Joshua chapter 5 reflects a couple of items Israel hadn't done in nearly 40 years. Israel had crossed the Jordan River, ready to claim their Promised Land, but they had to take care of a couple of items first.

They cried out Hosanna, meaning, Save Us. We also must cry out in repentance to be saved from our sins, and be made ready as bride without spot or wrinkle awaiting the bridegroom. It does nothing unless our hearts are turned back to GOD. Repentance is a gift to come back from wherever we strayed.

As Jesus rode into Jerusalem, he wept. His coming to Jerusalem would be a 'career-ending moment' for Jerusalem. There's a serious warning here for us. But there's also a promise. Jesus fulfilled Zechariah's prophecy - and Zechariah has more prophecies.
