About Roshelle
  • Education: BA - Religion and History Masters Degree in Religious Education and Discipleship
  • Experience: Working in Various Associate Pastor positions since 2007
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: It is my desire that you see Jesus in the words that you read. Not my denomination.... Not my gender.... JESUS.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: "Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup." Why is this my favorite? Because it reminds me that I cannot stand toe to toe with the devil wearing my flimsy human armor.
  • Family: One husband One dog
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Awesome, of course!!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: If only he could stay awake long enough to comment..........
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: It's not so much advice, as it is a question that I ask my self. "Do I preach unmixed with human tradition?" I believe it is an important question because loving church and church traditions are not the same as loving Jesus and what I am called to is point people to Him.
  • Books that have had an impact: Holiness by J.C. Ryle Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer Windows of the Soul by Ken Gire Desire of Ages by Ellen White I Used to be Perfect by George Knight
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Look to Jesus and be transformed. He's your friend. He loves you. He died to save you. He wants, more than anything, to spend eternity with you.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Taking a nap 'til Jesus comes

The cycle, which began in Egypt continued: • God does something great….. The people rejoice. • An apparent obstacle appears…. The people complain. • God does something great….. The people rejoice.

March 08, 2025 Last week, we left Israel on the edge of the desert of Shur. They had just witnessed the power of God in the destruction of the Egyptian Army in the Red Sea and now the greatest adventure of their lives was about to begin. While the people were complaining, Pharaoh was rejoicing. From his perspective, Moses had made a tactical error. He had led Israel into a dead-end with some pretty ticked off Egyptians blocking their only way of escape. GOTCHA!!!

March 01, 2025 What was God’s master plan in delivering the Children of Israel from slavery? Was it just to prove that the gods of Egypt were impotent against him? Was it just to judge Egypt for their harsh treatment of Jacob’s descendants? Was it merely a demonstration of his power? Was it ...read more

Pharaoh has maintained that he does not know this God of slaves. Well, Yahweh is about to introduce himself ---- He will make himself known.

February 22, 2025 Moses has lost all his confidence. Pharaoh had said “NO!” then he increased Israel’s workload. Now the Israelites wanted Moses to just go away. Despite Yahweh’s declaration, “I will redeem Israel,” Moses was still certain that Pharaoh would not listen to him. Definitely a ...read more

Moses had not wanted this assignment, but after some convincing, he had gone before Pharaoh and thrown down the gauntlet, but instead of crumbling, Pharaoh had taken up the challenge and thrown the first punch, apparently unafraid of the insignificant shepherd and his desert God.

February 15, 2025 Last week, when the Children of Israel were told that Yahweh had seen their misery and was concerned about them: “They believed and bowed down and worshiped” It was a great 1st start. Now all Moses and Aaron had to do was convince Pharaoh. I am not sure what they were ...read more

Take off your sandals, for the place you are standing is holy ground...

February 08, 2025 According to Acts 7:23, Moses was 40 when he left Egypt to become a shepherd in Midian. Wild sheep can survive on their own – not so with domesticated sheep. They are skittish and easily frightened. They can’t protect themselves, so as a survival strategy, they flock ...read more
