The people in Jesus’ day had various perception of who He was, but Peter the disciple of Jesus truly understood who Jesus was. The important question we need to ask ourselves is, “Who is Jesus to us personally?” The answer to this is vital both for now and for eternity.

Self-righteous Jonah rejoiced over a plant that gave him shade, but had not compassion on the people of Nineveh who genuinely repented of their sins. There’s no room for self-righteousness, as all of us are sinners saved by God's grace alone.
