About Ron
  • Education: Ed.D. Educational Leadership, AU, Ed.M. Education, BU, BA Columbia College, BA Equivalent, Biblical Studies, Sunset International Bible Institute
  • Experience: 40+ years in the ministry among the churches of Christ. Missionary to Korea; South Vietnam, and West Germany, while a member of the United States Army.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Open your heart as well as your bible....
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Biblically based sermons with human illustrations delivered with kindness and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The prodigal son. A fundamental message of repentance, compassion, forgiveness, and restoration. Thanks, God, for His mercy and grace.
  • Family: Married, three children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: I was a good boy.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I'm alright.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Develop a habit and skill for seeing sermon in every life experience. Spend time not just reading the bible; but seeing a sermon in every text!
  • Books that have had an impact: Leadership Workshop; "Church Leadership"; Sermon Preparation: "Preaching to Persuade."
  • Hobbies: Sermon design and development; training new ministers; conducting leadership and personal evangelism workshops.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: How much I really love the Lord!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: As a visiting preacher, I was confused with a minister with my last name who was supposed to preach that evening while visiting a local church. They had mistaken me for the minister, a no-show that evening. After arriving, I was ushered into the back room, asked what my text was, and asked to provide a brief bio. After service was concluded, I was asked to join them in the back. They made me an offer to come as their minister. I had to decline the offer and explain I was visiting.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He Loved the Lord.
