Our life's pursuits ultimately define us. King David was a man after God's own heart. King Solomon ultimately pursued other things. Being in pursuit of God as your portion will lead you into the fullness of His goodness today as well as for an eternity.

God’s Faithfulness To Mothers.

This incident is used of God to show He had given Solomon the wisdom he had requested as king. It proves that wisdom comes from God. It demonstrates that love comes from God, and love is present even when one is undeserving and perhaps unlovable.
