The analogy of Christ to a rock has its roots in Scripture. There are numerous Old Testament references to the Lord as a "Rock" or "Rock of my salvation." Or as one of our songs, drawn from Psalm 18 says, “The Lord liveth, and blessed be the Rock.”

In 1861 there was in England a man by the name of Reginald Heber who composed a hymn that has always been a favorite of mine.  He used Isaiah 6:1-3 and Revelation 4:8-11, as the basis for this great hymn of the church.  The hymn is “Holy, holy, holy.”

There are rainbows everywhere, but the most amazing rainbow on record is the one the Apostle John saw in heaven. Here is the only permanent rainbow that exists. They fade so fast on earth, but this one is part of the furniture of heaven. It is part of the presence of God.
