When’s the last time you heard someone say, “If you want to succeed in life, try being meek?” Or, “If you want to rise to the top and get somewhere in life, display meekness along the way?” Unfortunately, meekness isn’t a valued quality in our day. The ...read more

Palm Sunday sets the stage for Holy Week. More than that, it sets up in microcosm the grandest event of the end of the ages.

Palm Sunday is an essential part of the Easter experience, of the Resurrection experience. Without this day, we wouldn't have a foretaste of the Second Coming. Palm Sunday is a place to pause before entering into the inescapable whirlwind of Holy Week. And there is genuine cause to celebrate, ...read more

  • The Dust Is Turned To Lice Series

Contributed by John Lowe on Jul 22, 2022

This Plague came from the land, as the two former came from the river. Aaron "smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice (“Kinnim”) in man, and in beast"(ver. 17). This was a new blow at Egyptian idolatry because the earth was worshipped as well as the river.

The Dust is Turned to Lice (Exodus 8:16-19) Exodus 8:16-19 (NIV) Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,’ and throughout the land of Egypt, the dust will become gnats.” They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff ...read more

  • Reading Light, Leading Light Series

Contributed by Alison Bucklin on Nov 24, 2022
     | 1,284 views

People see the world from different angles. I’d like to suggest that the Holy Spirit gives us Christ’s perspective. We need to start seeing the world through Christ-colored glasses, which is not the same as rose-colored glasses. Jesus saw compassionately, but he also saw clearly and realistically.

How many of you own a flashlight? I probably have half a dozen, and most of them have dead batteries in them. I’d be lost without the flashlight app on my smart phone, because it’s always charged. It works. It helps me see where I’m going. It is, to use Jesus’ word, healthy. I think you can all ...read more

  • Christmas Is Contagious Series

Contributed by Glenn Pease on Apr 8, 2021
     | 2,668 views

The fastest way to get infected with the spirit of Christmas is to start praising God for what He has done for you through His Son. This sort of praise is very contagious. If you let it start coming out of your mouth, before you know it, it has infected your heart.

Celestine Sibley tells of her father saying to her mother one grayish December morning, "the lumber business is going badly. It looks like a poor Christmas this year." She cried out, "A poor Christmas-shame on you! There is no such thing as a poor Christmas! Times can be hard and ...read more

One of the greatest benefits of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in Christians is the way the Spirit is our intercessor who prays on our behalf when we don't know how to pray or what to pray for.

    A. Four years ago, the world experienced a crisis that few of us had experienced in our lifetime – a microscopic virus shut down life as we had known it. 1. The Covid 19 pandemic crippled the economy, incited global anxiety, and took the lives of multitudes of people. 2. It created a tsunami of ...read more
