Jonah’s disobedience became a hindrance the entire crew of unbelievers aboard that ship. This is a caution to us that as believers we should walk in total obedience to God and not become a stumbling block to those outside the church.

The one thing that is a chief contender for our love and allegiance to God is the riches of this world. If we desire to inherit eternal life we must choose to know God, love Him above all else and keep money in its rightful place. What seems impossible with men is possible with God alone.

A farmer who wanted to sell his donkey. A potential buyer showed up and looked the animal over. He asked if he could hitch him up to the wagon and see how he worked. The farmer did so and climbed up into the wagon with the customer handing him the reins.
