There are many good studies and observations about the seven churches from a spiritual perspective that can be applied to churches today. However, this study will not address them, but rather review the actual history of the churches and where they are today (2025).

Like Smyrna, the Lord offered only encouragement for Philadelphia, with no rebuke. They were a people of little strength, and yet they held great potential. Christ promised to open doors no man could close. He reminded them of His preeminence and the security of their future.
