Unbelief caused their forefathers to die in the wilderness, never seeing God’s best, and never experiencing the future God had for them. They had God as their father, Moses as their leader, God's promises and yet die with their dreams unfulfilled.

Habakkuk had reason to be afraid, but he ends his prophecy with a prayer of praise instead! The keywords of these verses are “although” and “yet”. Habakkuk is saying, “I don’t understand all that is happening, but I am going to praise Him anyhow!”
