I Will Rejoice
Contributed on Jul 3, 2025
Habakkuk had reason to be afraid, but he ends his prophecy with a prayer of praise instead! The keywords of these verses are “although” and “yet”. Habakkuk is saying, “I don’t understand all that is happening, but I am going to praise Him anyhow!”
Habakkuk 3:17-19 (NKJV) “I Will Rejoice” July 6, 2025 Intro: The book of Habakkuk was written against a backdrop of apostasy, judgment and unbelievable hardship. It was written during a time when Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, led the people back into idolatry and away from the Lord. As a result, ...read more

They That Wait
Contributed on Jun 28, 2025
The seeds of comfort often take root in the soil of pain. When your life seems to be falling apart, wait on the Lord and God will strengthen you.
Isaiah 40:28-31 “They That Wait” 6-29-2025 Isaiah 40:1 “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people,” saith your God. The book of Isaiah makes a dramatic shift at this point. Chapter 40 refers to the restoration after the Exile. Judah still had 100 years of trouble before Jerusalem would fall, then 70 years ...read more

Magnify The Lord
Contributed on Jun 22, 2025
When I magnify something, I can see it better. When I magnify, I can understand it better. When I magnify, I have a deeper appreciation for how and what it does.
Psalms 34:1-4 (NKJV) “Magnify the Lord” June 22, 2025 David insisted that despite the difficulties and dangers of his life, his experience with God has given him something to brag about. I wonder today, if we can put ourselves in David’s position, when the words of this text were written, no ...read more

Doors
Contributed on Jun 14, 2025
Even in judgment, God provided mercy. Just as Noah's family went through one door to be saved, so must we go through the one door, Jesus. Those outside of Christ will perish, but those in Christ will be saved.
Genesis 6:13-22 (NKJV) “Doors” June 15, 2025 When we last were together, my daughter and I planned a trip to Kentucky to visit The Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. It was spectacular! It had some scientific challenges as it tried to prove that dinosaurs were alive during the time of Noah. ...read more

After You Have Suffered A While
Contributed on May 18, 2025
The world will make you nervous, the world will try to unsettle you! BUT don’t put your trust in the things of this world! Put your trust in Jesus and He will settle you upon a sure foundation.
1 Peter 5:8-11 After You Have Suffered A While May 18, 2025 WE NEED TO STRENGTHEN OUR WALK WITH GOD! We are told that we need to be "sober and vigilant". Being watchful means that we need to get serious in the church. The Devil is Real - Here, he is called "Adversary". This ...read more

Understanding
Contributed on Jan 21, 2025
In 1988 at the Democratic National Convention the Reverend Jesse Jackson gave a speech called “Common Ground” in which he challenged us to never give in to demagoguery. He said, Don't you surrender and don't you give up. Don't surrender and don't give up! Why cannot I challenge you ...read more

The Power Of Prayer
Contributed on Jan 12, 2025
Luke 18:1-8 “The Power of Prayer” January 5, 2025 All of us have prayed about serious problems that God has not or did not seem to give us an answer to. Every one of us has had an issue that we have brought before the Lord and it seems as if He did nothing. Most of us have suffered some type of ...read more
