Nothing You Can Do To Make God Love You More Or Less
Contributed on Sep 25, 2024
Recently I have been hearing quite a few pastors using a quote from Henri Nouwen a Dutch Catholic priest that states, “There is nothing we can do to make God love us more and nothing we can do to make God love us less.” Is that true? Let's see what God's Word has to say about it.
Do you have a Bible? I was once told that in a simple Bible with no maps, no apocrypha and no commentary you would find the Psalms in the center of the Bible. So, I thought maybe it would be Psalm 119 since it has 174 verses and is the longest chapter in the Bible. However, in my Bible it turns out ...read more

You Must Be Born Again!
Contributed on Mar 23, 2023
The words of our Savior found in John 3 are the very heart of Biblical Christianity. Many in our society want to dismiss the very idea of rebirth through faith in Jesus. Many of our churches have embraced a "social gospel" where works are elevated above rebirth.
Today we will be reading from the Gospel of John 3:1-18 Intro Who am I? (Speaking as a guest preacher) Cautions Don’t trust me - Check everything I say with the Scriptures - Careful who you watch or listen to - Check what they say with the Scriptures - If you know the Scriptures you will “not ...read more

Advent 2021 - Christmas Sunday - Pointing Fingers
Contributed on Dec 18, 2021
Is it OK to point literally or figuratively? There is a lot of pointing going on in the nativity story, the Gospels, the rest of the New Testament and in the Old Testament. What is the pointing all about? It's all about Jesus!
Christmas Sunday - Pointing Fingers Please stand with me as we go over our current memory Scripture: Job 19:25-27 “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see Him with my ...read more

Advent 2021 - Who Do You Say The Son Of Man Is?
Contributed on Dec 1, 2021
There are a multitude of ideas about who Jesus is outside of those who are true disciples of Jesus Christ. But, there is only one True Jesus and Belief and Faith in Him is essential for eternal life. Some may make Jesus the way they WANT Him to be but that will only lead to destruction.
Advent 1 - Who Do YOU Say Jesus Is? Please stand with me as we go over our current memory Scripture: Job 19:25-27 “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see Him with my ...read more

Reducing The Ark Of God To A Good Luck Charm
Contributed on Dec 1, 2021
In the early part of the time when Samuel was a Judge of Israel the people were still far from God. In a brazen act of foolishness some men charged into the Holy of Holies and and ran off with the Ark hoping it could help them defeat the enemy. It did not.
Where Did He Go? Please stand with me as we go over our current memory Scripture: Job 19:25-27 “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see Him with my own eyes - I, and not ...read more

Try to imagine this. It is the year 1944 and Germany is at war with England. Now suppose you have dual citizenship in both Germany and England and you are living in Germany. How will you be treated? Conversely, suppose you have dual citizenship in both Germany and England and you are living in ...read more

A Row Of Dominoes
Contributed on Dec 18, 2012
Have you ever taken the time to set up a row of dominoes and then you push the first one and the first one knocks down the second one which knocks down the third one which knocks down the fourth one, etc until they have all fallen? The same case exists with the Holy Scriptures; when you knock ...read more

The Choice Of Sheep And Goats
Contributed on Nov 27, 2012
THE CHOICE OF SHEEP AND GOATS I tried and tried to think of a common example that could be used to illustrate this separation of the sheep from the goats but was unable to do so because this situation is so unique and the reason it is so unique is because the sheep and the goats have chosen ...read more

Joining For The Perks
Contributed on Nov 13, 2012
JOINING FOR THE PERKS Lay down our lives? You mean total sacrifice? Partial commitment is not allowed. I remember a man in a church I attended long ago who had a grandson who was in the Army and his grandson was about to be deployed into a war zone. This man got up in church and with tears ...read more
