The Law cannot set you free. The Law cannot deliver us from the old nature. While the inward man may delight in the Law of God (Psalms 119:35) the old nature delights in breaking the Law of God.

The Law is examined here – the Law is holy and it is spiritual. Romans 7 is about a man under the Law trying to meet the standards of the Law but is defeated by his own sinfulness. Our verses bring this out. It has nothing to do with the Christian and his new nature fighting the old nature.
