About Greg
  • Education: Jane and I have a Bachelor’s degree from Emporia St. University, Emporia, KS. Mine is in Biology/Pre-Med, hers in Elementary Education. I am currently working on my M.Div. through Luther Rice Seminary.
  • Experience: I have been pastor of South Main Baptist Church for one year now. Previously, I was a licensed preacher serving as pulpit fill for my home church which was without a pastor, and other churches in our Association of Southern Baptist Churches. Since my salvation in 1985, I have also served as Sunday School Director; Music/Worship Leader; Adult, Children, and Youth Teacher; Camp counselor and chaplain’s assistant (informal) in the Army.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: The most effective sermons I’ve preached were from a series entitled "The Stewardship of Life."
  • Family: I am the husband of a terrific wife, Jane, and the father of three children (soon to be four), ages 8, 6, and 4. The oldest is a sweet girl, Lisa. Matt and Josh follow, and each has their own personality. They are being home-schooled. Jane and I grew up in Kansas, met in college, where I got saved. She was a Christian when I met her. The military moved us to Hinesville, GA.
  • Hobbies: My hobbies include Computer Desktop Publishing, music (guitar/violin), reading, and fishing.
  • What I want on my tombstone: "I’ll be back!"
