Guilty But Pardoned

Jesus was our Savior on the cross, but He was also our Judge, and He pardoned us for all of our unknown sins of omission that we can never confess. His forgiveness was universal and comprehensive.

If God did not pardon the guilty there would be no Gospel, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Even so, we feel there is a danger in being too merciful. Jesus was our Savior on the cross, but He was also our Judge, and He forgave us and all mankind for the sins that are sins of omission. These are sins we are not aware of and so we can never confess. Jesus forgave these along with all other sins.

Jesus not only taught radical forgiveness, He practiced it, and we see this as He died on the cross forgiving all who had a part in His terrible pain, and that included all of us.

The dying thief on the cross next to Jesus made one request to be remembered, and Jesus responded to that by promising him that he would be joining Jesus that very day in paradise. Look to Jesus and your future is always bright.
