Elisha returned alone after Elijah was caught up to heaven. As he approached the Jordan River he cried out "Where is the God of Elijah?" As we face challenges and obstructions today we may ask the same question.

Where is the God of Elijah? Elisha was called by Elijah from what appears to have been a fairly affluent home 1Ki 19:19. He followed Elijah faithfully and humbly to the last. When challenged with Jordan like situations that seem overwhelming and impossible to tide over we must not lose heart. When we look back with gratitude, trust God for the impossible and stay grounded on His Word, we too will experience God’s mighty deliverance in our lives.

Book of Joshua is about faith. The Israelites had approached the Jordan River in transition from wandering in a desert to dwelling in a new land. Greater blessings awaited them but with greater battles. Victory comes to God when His people trust and obey.
