Accountability Of Shepherds

The same holds true today, as it did in Ezekiel's day. While no leader is totally responsible for what other people do, they have a major responsibility to lead others in the right way be treating them right and pointing them towards Jesus.

Jeremiah's prophecy of the sash. The effort put forth in holding up one’s clothes represents a willingness to labor for the Lord, and letting ones clothes drag along the ground is symbolic of laziness and a lack of zeal for God's work.

Conformity is the rule these days under increasing totalitarianism, but that will present problems for the Christian. One stands firm or compromises. To be faithful means holding fast to God’s word, not yielding our faith to distorted values so that we “fit in.” This is a difficult area.
