There are many people whose words are sharp and deadly like arrows. These words when hurled at us cause deep pain, but the psalmist encourages us to not be in dread of these deadly arrows that are directed towards us.

The Law is examined here – the Law is holy and it is spiritual. Romans 7 is about a man under the Law trying to meet the standards of the Law but is defeated by his own sinfulness. Our verses bring this out. It has nothing to do with the Christian and his new nature fighting the old nature.
