Where is the God of Elijah? Elisha was called by Elijah from what appears to have been a fairly affluent home 1Ki 19:19. He followed Elijah faithfully and humbly to the last. He had a firsthand view of Elijah’s later miracles and no doubt he heard graphic descriptions of the earlier ones. ...read more

Our text today is often used as the benediction at the end of the service. It is taken from Numbers 6:22-27. I want to show both the meaning to this blessing as well as examples of how God throughout time has enacted this blessing on His people.

Some fun with origins to start the message. “God Bless You” - AD 590 Pope Gregory I commanded unending prayer and to say God bless you after a person sneezed, since sneezing was one of the first signs of the plague “Good Bye” - from 1565, the original phrase was “God be with ye” became contracted ...read more

The victory is God’s, but sometimes it takes a long time to achieve. And sometimes that victory is only in the willingness of martyrs to give up everything in witness to their faith.

Saturday of the 33rd Week in Course 2023 I recently read an article summarizing statements made by likely voters in one of the state primaries. One of the participants lamented about the state of the nation and asked, “Is there anyone other than me that feels like this is Rome 476 A.D.?” (Of ...read more

Psalm 36 shows us that a trustworthy God can satisfy our every need, if we will simply trust Him in everything.
