Paul anticipates the Judaizers next objection since they were huge fans of the law of Moses. In general, they recognized the importance of the Abrahamic covenant, but they gave priority to the Mosaic covenant. This led them to emphasize law over faith.

Are there false teachers among us? Paul spoke of them in Galatia. We need to be just as aware today as they were then.

Paul had preached Christ to the people at Galatia, many had been saved by God's grace. False teachers came in and began teaching that Christ was not enough. There are two views regarding justification – one based by faith in the promise of God to provide justification through the promised Messiah, and the other based on man’s ability to keep the law through absolute obedience. One is of grace; the other is of works.
