[285]. A Message From A Poem – The Passion Week – Easter Poem

[285]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE PASSION WEEK – EASTER POEM
This poem is more appropriate at Easter time, the week leading to the Resurrection. I have covered the highlights of that week with a stanza given to each one.
The poem is like a synopsis of the week, a shorthand version if you like. Christians know the account of that week ending with the resurrection very well, so I won’t explain anything here.
For each section one could supply a multitude of verses but I won’t do that. Just one small passage will suffice – {{1 Corinthians 15:3-5 “I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the Scriptures, and that He was BURIED, and that He was RAISED ON THE THIRD DAY according to the Scriptures, and that HE APPEARED TO CEPHAS, then to the twelve.”}}
I hope you can use this poem as a reflection of what the Saviour did for us. Thank You, Lord!

THE PASSION WEEK – EASTER POEM
THE ENTRY:
Hosannas rose with shouts on high.
The palmy way.
Kingly display.
And Jesus, seated, passed on by.
==============================
PASSOVER:
He took the bread and then the cup.
This way you see.
Remember Me.
My death you hold each time you sup.
==============================
GETHSEMANE:
In heartache He poured out His prayer.
Such agony.
Gethsemane.
That grief ahead was His to bear.
==============================
BETRAYAL:
Perdition’s son arrived at night.
Betrayal planned.
With soldier band.
The Judas kiss - a wicked blight.
==============================
TRIAL:
So false the trial they gave to Him.
Dishonest men.
By lies, hasten.
Injustice filled right to the brim.
==============================
CROSS:
They crucified the blesséd Lord.
One on each side.
Likewise they died.
But by the crowd, His claims ignored.
==============================
DEATH:
And so for sinful man He died.
Ones gone astray.
Each to His way.
Their sins He owned, that held them tied.
==============================
BURIAL:
Love buried Him in Joseph’s grave.
There, two men came.
They loved His Name.
Whose stance for Christ had made them brave.
==============================
RESURRECTION:
He rose up from an earthly tomb.
No more the pain.
No more, death’s gain.
No more to face uncertain gloom.
==============================
ENDING:
They crucified Him on a cross.
Deep, bitter hate.
They sealed their fate.
But they retained their sin and dross.

Most of our adult lives are spent working. If a person works outside the home for eight hours a day and five days a week, then you work 2,080 hours a year. There are only 8,760 hours in a year, and if you spend the same amount of time sleeping as you do working, you only have 4,600 hours remaining. ...read more
