[255]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE BLUE DRAGONFLY
Forget about man-made complexities of life, and the intrusion of humanism into people’s lives. Forget about the complications of life that western, and developed societies have made things to be. The Lord does not want us to be burdened by all these matters and their resultant problems. Western society is all too complicated.
This is how the Lord wants us to be –
{{Matthew 6:25-30 “For this reason I say to you, DO NOT BE ANXIOUS FOR YOUR LIFE as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, nor for your body as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food and the body than clothing? LOOK AT THE BIRDS OF THE AIR that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? Which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life’s span? and why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. If God so arrays the grass of the field which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith?”}}
Those verses are not saying we give up on life and go in communities to live as hippies. It means we live our lives through a simple faith and not become entangled in the world’s system. We are in the world but not part of the world system of evil.
Here is a good verse for living – {{1 Timothy 6:6-7 “But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment, for we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.”}}
I do a lot of photography, especially in the macro world – small fungi, insects, etc. and while doing that I see other wonderful things – butterflies, dragonflies, native flowers and many insects. I look at these creatures, such as I did watching a blue dragonfly just resting contentedly with its needs supplied by God.
The poem was a result of that.
=============================================================
THE BLUE DRAGONFLY
In the beginning God created
All that’s in the earth;
All for His glory, all for our good,
Each thing of great worth.
=================
See this dragonfly sitting at rest -
The log, its support.
With perfect design, intricate ways,
It’s divinely taught.
=================
Nature knows best that God is faithful.
For them He does care.
The dragonfly and other creatures,
Of that, are aware.
=================
Lilies of the field, and grass there, too
God’s hand will sustain.
Like the dragonfly, place in God’s care,
Your life, to remain.
