[157]. A Message From A Poem – Jesus On Trial (Easter)

[157]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – JESUS ON TRIAL (Easter)
This is a more unusual style for me as you will see. The whole poem is set at the trial of the Lord from the time He entered the judgement hall until the sentence was pronounced.
In particular the poem will mention Herod, Pilate, Barabbas, Jewish leaders, the Elder’s Council, soldiers and the people.
The trial was a farce, a set up, a political convenience, BUT underlying it all, the will of God was being implemented. Christ came into the world for the specific purpose – {{1 Timothy 1:15 “It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance, that CHRIST JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS, among whom I am foremost of all.”}}
All those who had a part to play at the trial of Jesus will themselves stand one day before the great white throne and be on trial themselves. They all will be guilty with the highest accountability for they lifted up their office and voices against the Son of God – {{Revelation 20:11-12 “I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them, and I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, ACCORDING TO THEIR DEEDS.”}}
Those at the trial thought they were looking after themselves but they were serving their master, Satan. They put Jesus to death and thought they had the ultimate power but they did not. Just look at what Jesus said -
{{John 10:14-18 “I am the good shepherd and I know My own, and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father, AND I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR THE SHEEP. I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they shall hear My voice and they shall become one flock with one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves Me because I LAY DOWN MY LIFE THAT I MAY TAKE IT AGAIN. NO ONE HAS TAKEN IT AWAY FROM ME, BUT I LAY IT DOWN ON MY OWN INITIATIVE. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”}}

JESUS ON TRIAL
Falsely do they! Falsely do they!
Heap upon Him baseless blame.
Blasphemy here! Blasphemy here!
Cursing from them, without shame.
=======================
Jewish leaders! Jewish leaders!
Did among the crowd inflame.
Those vile rulers! Those vile rulers!
Stirred the base mob to defame.
=======================
Gutless Pilate! Gutless Pilate!
For the truth he was not game.
Mocking Herod! Mocking Herod!
Morally, this man was lame.
=======================
Elders’ Council! Elders’ Council!
Dismissed sadly, Jesus’ claim.
Soldiers stripped Him! Soldiers stripped Him!
Regal farce their minds did frame.
=======================
Give Barabbas! Give Barabbas!
Not the one from God who came!
Crucify Him! Crucify Him!
Over us this One won’t reign!
=======================
Don’t expect it! Don’t expect it!
Don’t expect the crowd to choose
Jesus Saviour! Jesus Saviour!
But Barabbas for the Jews.
=======================
Crucify Him! Crucify Him!
Man will always be the same.
Crucify them! Crucify them!
Kill all those who take His Name.
=======================
