John the Baptist is presented in the prologue of John's gospel as the prophesied forerunner to the arrival of God's Messiah. He prepared the people of Israel for the Messiah by preaching repentance and obedience. Repentance was needed then, and in these last days as well.

In John's prologue of his gospel, he refers to the person and work of the forerunner of God's Messiah. John the Baptist had the honor of being that individual and was one of a long line of biblical witnesses to the promise of the coming Redeemer.

We tend to think of negative things when we think of addictions, but there can also be good addictions. For example, I’m addicted to oxygen. Men, if you’re addicted to your wife, that’s a good thing. Women, it’s great to be addicted to your husband. But what about ministry?
