Today we will turn to examine what Jesus had to say about giving. And we will ask what giving looked like to Jesus. The passage in Luke 14:15-33 is considered one of the "Hard Sayings of Jesus". And indeed, it takes a bit of explanation to make sense of it.

Our obedience in giving equates to our love for God. We are to acknowledge God’s ownership of everything. This requires faith because we believe that God will provide our needs. We give a tithe to God and he will supply with the remaining ninety percent.
