  • Stilling The Storm Series

Contributed by Glenn Pease on Mar 27, 2021
     | 5,705 views

In verse 39 we see the deity of Christ. Only God can rebuke the wind and calm the sea. The only reason Bible writers could put such contrasting pictures of Jesus side by side is because they were true. He was truly man, and truly God.

About 100 years ago an English clergyman named Whiting was sailing in the Mediterranean when a storm broke of unusual fury, and hurricane winds. The waves were like mountains, and they came crashing against the ship, and all on board felt doomed, for the life boats were useless in such a storm. ...read more

In the Gospels, Jesus uses a method of teaching known as parables to communicate principles about the kingdom of God. A parable compares two things by placing them side by side. By using parables, Jesus compares the unfamiliar, the kingdom of God, to the familiar, nature and life experiences. ...read more

  • Why Light Doesn’t Always Lead To Sight Series

Contributed by Scott Maze on Jul 21, 2025
     | 427 views

John doesn’t blink when he says the ultimate reason the Jewish people don’t believe is because of God. What you are seeing in Jesus’ ministry is the same that Isaiah saw in his ministry. God has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts.

One of the biggest challenges for the early Christian leaders was how many Jews were rejecting Jesus. The first two things Jesus’ disciples say about him in the Gospel of John are “We have found the Messiah” (John 1:41). And, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, ...read more

Beyond all of the cultural reasons to come to Easter worship, we come to know that our lives are anchored. But it’s hard to know. Job points the way by affirming a redeemer despite the lack of evidence. Today we know a living redeemer, life changer.

I If I were to ask you why you’ve come here today, how would you answer? Tell the truth, now; you’re in church. What do you expect and why are you here today? I’d guess that a number of us would give out what Mayor Williams calls the ...read more

One reason so many Christ-followers leave such a lousy legacy is because we wear masks. We need to learn to live with no masks. God wants me to be the real deal. My family and friends need me to be authentic. This is needed especially in the home.

When I help a family with a funeral, I sit with family members and ask questions like, “How did your dad or mom impact your life?” Afterwards, I sometimes wonder, “What will my boys say about me someday? Will they say that they love Jesus more because of me? Or will they love Jesus less because ...read more
