Jesus will meet us at what ever level our love and commitment. It is time for us to hit the stop button and to get off of the "Guilt" Merry-Go-Round. It is time to move forward in the faith and to be conformed into the image of Christ.

For those unfamiliar with an Anglican Service there are four Scripture readings before the message. Today’s readings were: Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 30; Revelation 5:11-14 and John 21:1-19. The Prairie Home Companion tells a story ... of a man ... from Lake Wobegon. He would come to the altar time ...read more

Contributed by Scott Maze on Aug 12, 2025

Jesus didn’t treat Judas any differently than He did the other Twelve. Shakespeare cannot have Jesus say, “Et tu, Judas,” because Jesus knew what was coming. And even though Jesus knew what was coming, He didn’t treat Judas any differently than He did any other disciple over those three years.

Find John 13 with me, if you will. Many of you recognize the phrase “Et Tu, Brute?” immediately. It’s Latin for “You too, Brutus?” It’s a quote from Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, where the Roman dictator speaks to his friend Marcus Junius Brutus. Caesar recognizes Brutus as one of his ...read more

  • Sermon # 23 - The Blessings Of Obedience Series

Contributed by Andrew Dixon on Nov 5, 2024
    based on 1 rating

When disobedient Jonah repented and agreed to obey God, his life was spared to bless an entire city. The blessings of God on those who choose to be obedient to His word is beyond human understanding, and they also become a great blessing to many.

We read in Jonah 2:10, And the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land. (ESV) When the fish obeyed If I were to rephrase the above mentioned verse this is how I would say it, ‘An obedient fish vomited a disobedient prophet out on the dry land’. Jonah disobeyed God, and ...read more

Jesus was born to be a King... but what was the Kingdom He came to build?

A man told about growing up on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. He often spent hours on the beach creating intricate sand castles and he said he could build whole cities with his hands every day. But one year (for several days in a row) there was a group of bullies that came down to beach and ...read more

  • Sermon # 40 - Mercy Instead Of Judgement Series

Contributed by Andrew Dixon on Jan 10, 2025
    based on 1 rating

Jonah freely accepted God’s mercy but wanted God’s judgement to be given the people of Nineveh. God’s word reminds us that it is not our prerogative to judge others, but rather to be merciful to them, just as God is merciful to us.

We read in Jonah 4:4, “Then the LORD said, "Do you think it is right for you to be angry?" (ERV) The God who created heaven and the earth asked Jonah the prophet, if he thought it was right to be angry with Him, very much like a parent would enquire of their child, who is upset with ...read more

Persecution can and is real. The key is how we approach it. Peter offers 2 lessons of encouragement: We must "Cultivate Christian Love" and "Practice the Lordship of Christ".

INTRODUCTION Persecution is real for the believer. While it comes in many different ways, it is real – The group we’ve been studying about in 1 Peter suffered this horror in much a different way than we do as Christians today: Dr. M.R. DeHaan put it this way: In the early days of the church. . . , ...read more

Expounding on 1 Peter 3:15-16, speaking about the urgent need to give the greatest gift of all — the good news of salvation — to the world.

The message that we’ve heard, “A Strange Way to Save the World,” it really, really is. When you think of the manger, when you think of what God did, in John 3:16, that He loved the world so much that He sent His only begotten Son, that He came literally to die on the cross so that ...read more

Doing something when you’re scared of it. Doing something when you think you can’t. Trying something that you’ve ...read more
