Although ignorance is a major problem in the Christian world, our biggest issue involves being rightly related to God. Many, sadly, look to law-keeping as the way to know God or receive His forgiveness. This simply will not work; we need regeneration, the work of the Holy Spirit within us.

The Law is examined here – the Law is holy and it is spiritual. Romans 7 is about a man under the Law trying to meet the standards of the Law but is defeated by his own sinfulness. Our verses bring this out. It has nothing to do with the Christian and his new nature fighting the old nature.

Under The Law Or Under Christ? (Romans 7:1-6)

While the law reveals God’s holiness and exposes our sin, it cannot save us—it brings condemnation. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are freed from the law’s condemnation and now live under grace, bearing fruit through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
