In John 12.20-36 where the Greek-speaking Jews asked to see Jesus. Three things stand out from this episode, People WANT to see Jesus; People NEED to See Jesus; and People WILL See Jesus. As His disciples we can aid or hinder people in seeing Jesus.

As we prepare for Christmas, we must not be guilty of leaving Jesus in the manger. While I am thankful for His birth in Bethlehem, I also rejoice for Calvary. Jesus came with purpose - to die for our sin and reconcile us to God. He was born to die.

The crowds were looking for a Christ who would "remain" and lead them into glorious earthly kingdom, but Jesus was talking about being "lifted up" and not being with them forever. The Jesus they wanted wasn't the Jesus they were getting.
