In our text we see the Lord Jesus loving men who did not deserve it. Luke (22:24) tells us that at the Lord’s Supper, just after Jesus announced that one of them would betray Him, the disciples got into a dispute about which of them was the greatest.

Though the word “serve” isn’t explicitly mentioned in Acts 2:42-47, the early church served each other. As Jesus demonstrated service by washing His disciples' feet, we are to serve one another through our gifts, tangible acts of help, prayer, hospitality, and generosity.
