Paul mentioned Christ as our High Priest before in (Hebrews 2:17,3:1), but did not attempt to prove it until now, which he does at great length in Hebrews 4:13 through Hebrews 10:39) in over 5 and a half chapters.

Jesus was the King who never looked like a King, the King who never acted like a king – at least not in the way the world understands royalty. He came the first time, 2000 years ago, as the servant king, and he is coming again, in power and in glory, as the king over all kings.
