(Humor) We have been told recently a "Husband Shopping Center" was opened in Dallas, Texas where women could come go shopping for a husband on display.

It was laid out with five floors with the men increasing in positive attributes as you ascended up the floors. THERE WAS TWO RULES: 1) Once you opened the door to any floor, you must choose a man from that floor. 2) Also, if you went up a floor, you couldn’t go back down except to leave and ...read more

Contributed by Scott Maze on Jul 19, 2025
     | 605 views

The Bible says that when you act like there is no God, you are a clown show. Upstairs, you maybe believe God exists, but downstairs, you live as if you are an atheist. Do you act the fool at work? Do you act the fool at school?

Today, we begin a new sermon series entitled, Hello My Name is God. It’s a series designed to focus us on the character of God from the book of Psalms. This morning, I want to help you answer this question: “How Do I Live like God Exists?” Today’s Scripture TO THE CHOIRMASTER. OF DAVID. The fool ...read more

  • Backstabbers

Contributed by Scott Maze on Aug 12, 2025
     | 366 views

Jesus didn’t treat Judas any differently than He did the other Twelve. Shakespeare cannot have Jesus say, “Et tu, Judas,” because Jesus knew what was coming. And even though Jesus knew what was coming, He didn’t treat Judas any differently than He did any other disciple over those three years.

Find John 13 with me, if you will. Many of you recognize the phrase “Et Tu, Brute?” immediately. It’s Latin for “You too, Brutus?” It’s a quote from Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, where the Roman dictator speaks to his friend Marcus Junius Brutus. Caesar recognizes Brutus as one of his ...read more

  • Truly Following Jesus Series

Contributed by Joel Gilbert on Aug 18, 2025
     | 373 views

There are a variety of reasons why some people follow Jesus - some for benefits, some to slander, some to argue, some bandwagon followers, but what does it take to be a true follower of Jesus?

It seems like nearly every week I run into people who have some sort of faith. They say that believe in Jesus or at least call themselves Christians, but don’t attend a church. Their faith is very personal, private, and even comfortable. They choose to follow Jesus on their terms, as long as He ...read more

  • Beware Of Hypocrisy Series

Contributed by Joel Gilbert on Aug 25, 2025
     | 193 views

In His encounter with Pharisees and Scribes, Jesus discusses the characteristics of hypocrisy. To His disciples He notes the promises of hypocrisy with a stern warning. And yet, in the gospel, we find great hope for hypocrites.

It seems like nearly every month (maybe even more frequently if we look hard enough), we receive news about some Christian leader who fails morally, gets caught, and is removed from ministry. Whether it’s pastors, professors, performers, or politicians - failure happens. We see hypocrisy ...read more

  • What Does It Mean To "make Every Effort" To Enter The Kingdom? Series

Contributed by Jim Butcher on Dec 10, 2025
     | 208 views

This passage has two troubling phrases: "make every effort" and "try . . . and not be able." What are we to do with those? And do they mean that God is setting up difficult barriers to get into the Kingdom?

WHAT DOES "MAKE EVERY EFFORT" MEAN? It doesn’t mean that it’s nearly impossible but that you should focus your attention. - Luke 13:22-24a. - Jesus is asked an important question: “[A]re only a few people going to be saved?” (v. 23). - That's a great question. What is the nature of ...read more

Jesus helps us to see that His followers should be marked by humility, faith, and devotion.

What is a good Christian like? Is it someone who doesn’t as the saying goes “drink or smoke or cuss or chew or date/marry people who do”? Is it someone who faithfully attends church? Is it someone who waits until marriage to engage in sexual activity? Is it someone who is morally upright? Is ...read more

Contributed by Scott Maze on Oct 27, 2025
     | 640 views

How would you like to pray to this god to answer your desperate prayers each day? Prayer would be a gamble each and every time. If you were single and you were praying for love and marriage, this kind of mercurial god might give you Hannibal Lecter or Jeffrey Epstein for a boyfriend!

Find the book of Nahum with me, a small book with a massive view of God. You won’t wake up one day to find Nahum trending on social media. If the Bible were a playlist, Nahum would be the song you’d skip every time. It’s the book we totally ignore. But we shouldn’t ignore it. Here’s why you ...read more
