  • Judgment And Glory Series

Contributed by James Jack on Nov 30, 2007
    based on 4 ratings

It is the humble servants of the Lord, not the outwardly religious, who will enjoy Him forever.

One of the awesome things I’ve noticed as we’ve gone through Isaiah over the last few months has been amazing contrasts we see in the character to God, the paradoxes in his divine nature and his sovereign action. We saw it in dazzling brilliance last week when Cameron spoke to us from Isaiah 55. ...read more

  • John The Baptist Again, But What A Man, What A Devotion.

Contributed by Gordon Mcculloch on Dec 17, 2017

Another John the Baptist sermon, but I really did not understand the man until now. Can we ever emulate and sustain his devotion to Jesus?

This sermon was delivered to Holy Trinity in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland on the 17th December 2017 (a Scottish Episcopal Church in the Dioceses of Glasgow and Dumfries). Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 John 1:6-8,19-28 Psalm 19:14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of our ...read more

  • The Towel And The Throne: Greatness Redefined Series

Contributed by Kory Labbe on Oct 25, 2025
     | 384 views

True greatness in God’s Kingdom isn’t found in titles or positions, but in the humility of serving others. Jesus redefined leadership by trading the throne for the towel, showing us that to lead is to love through service.

Introduction: “The CEO with the Mop” Good morning, everyone. It’s great to see you here today. We’re continuing in our “Live” series, where we’ve been looking at what it really means to be different — to live in this world, but not be shaped by it. Each week we’ve seen that following Jesus isn’t ...read more

  • Names Of God: Adonai, God Our Master And Owner Series

Contributed by Justin Steckbauer on Aug 1, 2022
     | 2,492 views

The name Adonai occurs about 300 times in the Old Testament. Every time it’s used it’s written as a possessive plural form. So it could actually be read as “my Lords” which reminds us that God is a trinity, of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

"Servant" in our English New Testament usually represents the Greek doulos (bondslave). Sometimes it means diakonos (deacon or minister); this is strictly accurate, for doulos and diakonos are synonyms. Both words denote a man who is not at his own disposal, but is his master's ...read more

Message about being a servant in the kingdom of God.

Note: This is a message originally preached by David Kemp from the Fort Mill Church of God. It made a big impact on me and I used it and changed it to fit the church I pastor. I thought it was worth sharing. Title: A Title or a Towel! - Servant hood Text: John 13:3-5; 12-15 Thesis: We need to ...read more

  • Becoming Less

Contributed by Derek Geldart on Sep 8, 2024
     | 1,001 views

The goal of service is not to seek numbers or results but to build one another up in faith for His glory, not our own. Let us seek first the kingdom of God and let our good deeds point to the Father, He may become greater, and I become less (John 3:30) for His honor and glory, amen.

Becoming Less John 3:30 Online Sermon: http://www.mckeesfamily.com/?page_id=3567 What does effective ministry look like in this modern age? It is increasingly difficult to seek first the kingdom of God when the culture around us prioritizes the worship of self. Even as new creations in Christ, ...read more

  • The Ultimate Insult Series

Contributed by Chris Appleby on Nov 25, 2001
    based on 90 ratings

People refuse to accept God’s authority. We don’t want to be tenants in God’s Vineyard. We want to be the owners.

"Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!" You’ve no doubt heard that little rhyme, and you’ve probably even used it at times. When I was growing up it was the standard playground retort to an insult. But of course we all know that those words were simply a bluff. They had ...read more

Celebration message, after an evangelisttic outreach. Examines the reason we do what we do.

WHY DO WE DO THIS? Well, yesterday was a big day. It was the culmination of a great deal of work, months of preparation and not a small investment. At the day’s end, over 300 people had visited the property. The question however is not about how many people attended. The question is not, ...read more

Contributed by Dr. Robert Crowder on Aug 29, 2022
     | 2,946 views

Before the Apostle Paul wrote the epistle (letter) that bears the name of his trusted companion, many things happened that would be helpful to understand the “Who, What, When, Why, Where, and How” of the book.

Titus 1:1-3 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3 But hath in due times manifested his ...read more
