We might think that the 70 years Judah spent in exile is a long time for the people to be under the anger of God. However the post exile events and interactions between God and His people demonstrates that God graciously limited His punishment to only 70 years. God is a forgiving God.

Jexit: Judah Comes Home The 70 Year Limit A sermon on Ezra 6:13-18 The last time we looked at what was happening to the returned Exiles it was the 7th December 518BC. And Zechariah was talking with the Jews about the fact that the Lord was giving them the opportunity to move forward. The past, ...read more

Jesus tells us to walk by faith and not by sight. When we do that we give sight to all those all around us. Trust Jesus to open your eyes to the love of God and the forgiveness that is yours in Jesus. Jesus says wash away the mud from your eyes.

Mud in your eye John 9:1-21 Have you ever played in the mud? Maybe you made mud pies. Maybe you are one of those people who like tractor pulls or monster truck rallies. Some of you may have had a mud facial. Jesus found a very interesting use for mud one Sunday afternoon. He used it as a ...read more

  • Why The Law Cannot Fix Us Series

Contributed by Ed Vasicek on May 11, 2020
     | 3,219 views

Although ignorance is a major problem in the Christian world, our biggest issue involves being rightly related to God. Many, sadly, look to law-keeping as the way to know God or receive His forgiveness. This simply will not work; we need regeneration, the work of the Holy Spirit within us.

Why the Law Cannot Fix Us (Romans 7:1-25) 1. Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms. Moms come with all sorts of personalities and approaches toward parenting. A mother is trying to get her son to eat carrots. “Carrots are good for your eyes,” she says. “How do you know?” the boy asks. The mother ...read more

  • God's Method Of Deliverance

Contributed by Russell (Rusty) Pruitt on Mar 5, 2016
     | 13,936 views

This story is about how Christians can access God’s blessings for every area of our lives. It is not so much about forgiveness of sin, which we all need, but it's more about the method God has for deliverance in every area of life. God is a deliverer.

GOD'S METHOD OF DELIVERANCE: II KINGS 4: 1-7 Or AS WE POUR OUT, GOD POURS IN I. “Now there cried a certain woman of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, ‘your servant, my husband is dead; and you know that your servant feared the Lord; and the creditor has come to take my ...read more

  • Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

Contributed by Craig Condon on Jul 9, 2015
     | 9,346 views

When we receive the bread and wine during Holy Communion, we are holding Christ’s very body and blood, which was nailed to the cross and poured out for our forgiveness. We have seen it with our own eyes and felt it with our own hands and on our tongues.

Have you ever heard of the old saying, “Good things come to those who wait”? If so, the story of Simeon, Anna and the baby Jesus in the temple in Lune 2:22-40 is a good example. The coming of Christ involved all manner of waiting on God. A young maiden, a dying man and an old widow all ...read more

  • Soul Food

Contributed by Craig Condon on Jun 17, 2015
     | 5,459 views

In order to live with Christ, we have to die to our worldly way of life and take up his life-a life of forgiveness, goodness, trust and service. If we are grounded in Christ’s unconditional love, we are free to lead like Jesus and love and serve others.

The passage we have just heard from John’s Gospel is part of the lengthy “bread of life” discourse in which Jesus shows that he is the only way we can satisfy the hunger we have in our souls. Hunger is a powerful motivator. When we are physically hungry, we get something to eat. ...read more

Contributed by Scott Maze on Jun 12, 2021
     | 1,769 views

If you go to God and say, “I deserve acceptance,” you will be rejected, because that shows you do not know what’s in your own heart. But if you go to God and say, “I deserve rejection; please forgive me,” you will get acceptance. That’s the gospel.

Just in time for Thanksgiving meal, Jesus tells us who to invite. Today, we encounter a dramatic story where Jesus has been invited into the home of a very prominent man. The heart of the LORD is about Mercy towards us, and as HE gives mercy, we are also to be merciful to others. We love, because HE first loved us. We forgive, because HE first forgave us. We have mercy because HE first was merciful to us.

Isaiah demonstrates a very unique position in chapters 63 and 64 as he pleads with God to hear, forgive, and rescue His people. Why? Because he knew that there is no way we (as a creation) could be forgiven without God’s (the Creator's) direct intervention.
