Jesus prayed for His murders. He prayed for the very people who were His cruelest enemies. "Father, forgive them" is for the very ones who are doing unimaginable cruel things to Him.

Jesus died on a cross between two nameless criminals. We don’t know the names of either one of these men. It is the only time we read about them in the Bible. Three men died that day on a cross. One made the wrong choice, one made the right choice, and One is your only choice.

The crowds were mocking, the thieves were taunting, the priests were jeering, the soldiers were indifferent, the Savior was bleeding — and all the while His mother witnessed the horrible mockery.

What if you spent thirty minutes in solitary thought about one of these seven statements? What if you spent thirty minutes in conversation about one or two of these seven statements? Do a wide sweep in your mind just now and see all those witnessing His crucifixion. Take it all in.
Today is Palm Sunday, the day Jesus Christ enters into the city of Jerusalem to make this memorable last week before His crucifixion. Just as Jesus breathed His last, the Bible tells us that curtain of the Temple was torn in two. Witnesses to the Temple tell us that this curtain was as thick as your hand. So the tearing of something so thick and so large was supernatural.
