On Transfiguration Jesus gave his disciples a glorious experience that would help them get through some pretty hard things until finally arriving at Easter Sunday morning. Jesus continues to show his glory to us today, a glory that helps us through the hard times of our lives.

Though the word “serve” isn’t explicitly mentioned in Acts 2:42-47, the early church served each other. As Jesus demonstrated service by washing His disciples' feet, we are to serve one another through our gifts, tangible acts of help, prayer, hospitality, and generosity.

Luke 14:25-33 is usually seen as Jesus’ advice to his disciples to be committed to him above all. But Jesus didn’t follow that advice and we thank God he didn’t because he went way beyond human logic and calculation to become our Savior and Lord.
