So God entrusted the greatest message ever sent from heaven to a bunch of smelly, uncouth shepherds. It shouldn’t surprise us because from the beginning of time he has come to lift up those who have found themselves at the bottom of the ladder.

Salt Of The Earth

The phrase "salt of the earth" has become a commonly used expression in our society. The dictionary defines it as used in reference to "a very good and honest person or group," but that doesn't begin to do justice to what Jesus had in mind in this teaching.

Again ax-heads don't float. Or do they? Maybe it’s time to pray a ridiculous prayer! The Bible say’s, “The iron did swim!” This ranks as one of my favorite miracles in the scripture for a couple reasons. First, this isn't a life or death situation. It's just a borrowed ax head.
