The philosopher, Socrates said, “man know thyself!” He taught that knowledge of self is the basis for true understanding of who we are to others. Self-Awareness according to Paul is so important that he uses it as the basis of comfort for Timothy.

This is particularly pertinent in my own country at this time, with the announcement of the end of our Queen’s 70 year reign: ‘The Queen is dead. Long live the King.’
