The Pastor's Wife The Poem
Contributed by Loyd C. Taylor on Jul 15, 2015 (message contributor)
The Pastor’s Wife
An Outstanding Woman
She serves in a lofty position—
not something she chased in life;
She fell in love with a ministry man,
and then became a pastor’s wife.
She gave her life to Jesus,
and she shared the Gospel light;
Wanting her home to honor Him—
God’s child and the pastor’s wife.
She started on her journey
with her dreams still reaching high;
Ready to serve beside her husband,
because she is the pastor’s wife.
She wanted to be a servant—
someone folks could lean on in life;
Learning as she went, day by day—
that’s part of the pastor’s wife.
She’s always been a gracious hostess
whenever folks drop by;
Welcoming others cheerfully—
this hospitable pastor’s wife.
She tried to be a steady mom
and keep the peace in life;
Nurturing her kids with gentle love—
she’s a mom and the pastor’s wife.
She’s told not to show her struggles
or the hard times in her life;
So she keeps smiling through the load,
like a pastor’s loving wife.
She’s lived on a meager salary,
just trying to survive;
While others live in luxury—
that’s common for a pastor’s wife.
There are times she’s been lonely—
we need to realize:
God made her first a woman,
and then the pastor’s wife.
She’s longed for a true friend
in battles she’s had to fight;
But at times folks were cold and left her—
turning from the pastor’s wife.
At times she’s felt so wounded,
needing hugs held tender and tight;
Yes, she gets discouraged too—
so be kind to the pastor’s wife!
She’s been there for all of us,
so, let’s do what’s right:
Take real interest in her too—
the one known as the pastor’s wife.
Notice all the things she does;
help make her burden light;
And let us always be thankful
for our gracious pastor’s wife.
Don’t take her for granted—
make her ministry a delight;
Show true appreciation
for our pastor’s amazing wife!

A Servant's Heart (Updated) Series
Contributed by Dennis Lee on Jun 6, 2016
We are looking at the heart of a servant, which Jesus said should be our goal if we want to be great in the kingdom of God. To have such a heart will cost and goes against everything we’re taught. It conflicts with our self-centeredness and personal desires. But in the end, there’s a reward.

Hold Him Up
Contributed by Jerry Flury on Feb 7, 2015
Like Moses, your pastor cannot and is not expected by God to do the work by himself. Like Moses pastors need others who will hold his arms high that they may be steadied and that he may be able to lead as God would have him do.
