[256]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE BRIDE’S SONG

The Bride of Christ is the Church. It is also The Pearl of Greatest Price. Those who belong to Christ are members of the Church of the Bride. Not all who are in a church belong to the Church universal.

Those redeemed members – truly saved – have a song to sing. I liken this to the Bride’s song. Songs to the Lord are about the Lord, not egocentric stuff that pervades some churches these days.

This poem looks at praising the Groom from the redeemed Bride and ends with a plea to those who do not know the Saviour to turn from sin to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Saviour.

Two lines here are these –

“Then the Bride in single voice

Praises Christ, exalted Lord.”

The thing here is unity. It is sad the members of the true Church are divided as is all of Christendom but that one day will not be. When the Church is at rest with her Lord she will praise as with a single voice, unified and pure in all her existence.

At the marriage supper of the Lamb we are told this – {{Revelation 19:7-8 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready, and it was given to her to clothe herself in FINE LINEN, BRIGHT AND CLEAN, FOR THE FINE LINEN IS THE RIGHTEOUS ACTS OF THE SAINTS.”}}

We sing praises because – {{1 John 4:19 “We love, because He first loved us.”}}

We sing praises because – {{Ephesians 5:20 “always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father”}}

I hope you like the poem.

THE BRIDE’S SONG

If your faith is based in Christ,

You may sing salvation’s song;

If your faith knows its true home,

You may join the happy throng.

==================

Then unite with everyone -

Those who wear salvation’s gleam.

All around the chorus builds,

Sounding forth redemption’s theme.

==================

Then the Bride in single voice

Praises Christ, exalted Lord.

Radiance that He endowed

Highlights Christ, the Groom adored.

==================

Through eternal ages then,

Christ commands the central place.

Unto Him, the Lamb once slain,

Heaven bows before His face.

==================

Maybe you don’t know the Lord;

Maybe you can’t sing His praise.

Turn from sin, the Saviour take.

Then you’ll likewise on Him gaze.
