[154]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – JESUS CHRIST MY LORD

This is a factual poem about Jesus Christ the Lord. I won’t list all the things I said in the poem. Read through and see them as you go.

Jesus is my Lord but only those who have surrendered to Him can say that. {{John 13:13 “You call Me TEACHER AND LORD and you are right, for so I am.”}}

The point is that everyone will call Jesus LORD. We do it willing in love or will be forced to do it in a humility without hope in the judgement - {{Philippians 2:10-11 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of God the Father.”}}

It is also true that Christians can live a somewhat selfish life and not make any assent to Jesus being Lord. There used to be a Sunday School chorus that ended in, “And if you do not crown Him Lord of all, you do not crown Him Lord at all,”

Jesus is King but more than that! Jesus is Lord but more than that! {{Revelation 19:16 On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”}}

One line in the first stanza is, “The Second Person is the Word,” referring to God the Son being the Word as John wanted to express right at the start of his Gospel.

{{John 1:1-2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”}}

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! HE IS MY LORD!

JESUS CHRIST MY LORD

“Who will go and whom can I send?”

“Here am I. Send Me.”

For mankind, the question was asked.

Listen, look and see.

God the Son has answered the call;

The will of God be.

The Second Person is the Word,

And that is the key.

=========================

The Saviour who is Christ the Lord,

Came down here to earth.

In Bethlehem, through a virgin –

His, a human birth.

God loved the human race so much:

Christ showed what it’s worth.

People spurn His loving call,

But they love their mirth.

=========================

On the cross they hanged the God Man,

When for sins He died.

Not His sins but yours, held Him there;

His hurt we supplied.

Judgement assaulted His great love;

There, scoffers deride.

Death on the cross prepared a place

Where we can reside.

=========================

Who is worthy, who is worthy

To open the scroll?

Who in heaven’s glory can break

The seals on the roll?

Thank You, Lord, for taking my place,

And saving my soul.

The Lamb of God who rescued me,

Restored what sin stole.
