God Can Destroy Everything On Earth!
Contributed by Paul Clemente on Nov 12, 2022 (message contributor)
Genesis 7:17-24
See Hebrews 11:7 – What can we learn from this? - faith includes God's instructions and obedience
God gave Noah a huge task (almost an impossibility to load up all sorts of animals and necessities in 7 days!) We do not note God indicating to Noah that God was going to help, but we note that Noah obeyed. What can we learn from this? – Nothing is impossible with God but we must obey.
Focusing on Genesis 7: 17- 24: For 40 days the flood kept coming. How? – there were plenty of waters from within the earth and above the earth (likely waters noted from Genesis 1:2)
The ark floated; and so, everything in the ark couldn’t drown.
What’s significant about v19? – the flood happened quickly and placed the entire earth underwater!
How deep was the flood? – 20 feet over every land on earth!
v24: The earth was flooded for 150 days? What do you think is significant about this? – 5 months is plenty to drown everything; Noah and his family had time to think about the power of God and their total dependence on God!
From v21-23, what died? – every living creature not in the ark died from the flood!
Who was left alive? – Noah and his family along with all the creatures on earth
Biblical principles from this passage we can note? – God can destroy everything on earth but can have love to save those who obey Him!
