About Mark
  • Education: Central Christian College of the Bible, 911 E. Urbandale Dr. Moberly, Missouri 65270. Check the school out www.cccb.edu. It’s the only Bible College in our brotherhood that is tuition free! The fastest growing Bible College in the U.S.
  • Experience: I Did youth ministry for about 1 year and have now have been a preaching minister for 13 years. Before getting into the ministry I served at my home church (Parkview Christian Church, Sedalia, MO) as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, K.A.T. teacher, youth sponser, and so on.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Thank you for looking at my sermons. I don’t have a lot online yet because I don’t put all of them on the web. I hope what I do have has been a help to you in one way or another. God bless.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Out of my sermon "God Never Forgets". Check it out, it’s the story about my wife and I shopping at Aldi’s.
  • Family: It's just me and my wife now, my two sons are married and on their own. My oldest son has given my wife and I two wonderful grandchildren, waiting on my other son and his wife, but am in no hurry for more grandchildren just yet.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My dad has never heard me preach and my mom passed away several years ago. Hopefully some day my dad will hear me.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I’m supprised, I think she likes them.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Just do it & study, study, study, practice, practice, practice
  • Books that have had an impact: The Tangible Kingdom by Hugh Halter, 4 Chair Discipling by Dann Spader, The Barefoot Church by Brandon Hattmaker, The Purpose Diven Life by Rick Warren; Fresh Wind Fresh Fire, by Jim Cymballa
  • Hobbies: Camping, Fishing, Golf, Softball and whatever else I get the time to do.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: A lot of people think there is a lot that is funny, but.....
  • What I want on my tombstone: He was a good man and served the Lord with all his heart

But the church today isn’t living in power, it isn’t going into to battle and we have a hard time obeying Jesus. Even Christians dislike each other and sometimes even hate each other. Even Christians would rather do worldly things rather than Godly thin

Going Into Battle ME Not too long ago, when HBO had a free weekend I watched a war movie called Hacksaw Ridge. The movie is about Desmond Doss. Desmond wanted to help with the war, but he would not kill anyone, he wanted to be a medic and help the wounded. The movie is based on a true story. ...read more

The application to this is if we put Jesus first in our lives and if we continue to strive for Him, continue to draw ourselves close to Him, He will improve us and make us more like Him everyday.

Lost Our First Love ME I love Jesus and I love being a minister of Christ. I honestly believe being a minister is the most important thing I could do on the face of the earth. I love to preach and teach God’s word and I’m glad He led me here to MVC. Honestly though, He chose a tremendously ...read more

What I see from reading the Bible of those who were serving the Lord they had difficulty because they were Christians doing the will of God. Being a disciple does and will cost you something.

Cost of Being a Disciple Luke 14:25-35 ME Last week Maria and I went back to Parkview Christian Church in Sedalia, MO. It is always good to go back there because we have so many friends there. Parkview is the church were we were before I went into the ministry. I served in many different ...read more

Giving to the church is a very basic part of Christianity. Giving should be from the heart, thought about before hand, should be done willingly. After this sermon our church stopped passing the offering plates for offering.

Back to the Basics - Giving ME Well we are at the end of the Back to the Basics sermon series. Before I started this series I had it planned out the basic things I would talk about. Communion is another basic of the church. It is renewing the New Covenant within us every time we take it. It is proclaiming the Lord's death until He comes back. It is uniting with other Christians with one mind and one heart.

Back to the Basics - Communion ME When I was growing up most of you know I went to the Lutheran Church. For those who have been here I’ve talked about that several times. Of course there are many differences between the Lutheran Church and the Christian Church. Baptism is one of those things ...read more
