That one single lost sheep is as worthy and as loved as a flock of 99 safe sheep or saved sheep. And that heaven rejoices more over the one lost soul that repents than it does over a whole church who already believes.

God is “jealous” in the sense that He expects complete, exclusive devotion; not merely a partial, lukewarm, half-hearted religious observance. Worship belongs to God. He is worthy of worship and has a right to be “jealous” of it.

Undeserved - A God Who Loves Anyway

In the context of White Privilege, we sometimes think God loves us because we are lovable. Quite the opposite, God calls us when we aren't worthy or even very lovable. Responding to a God who brings laughter.
