Contributed by Chuck Sligh on Oct 10, 2019
     | 9,404 views

A skeleton for a church anniversary sermon. Our story is obviously unique to us, especially since we are mission work overseas, but my approach could spark ideas on how to tell your church’s story in your unique way.

Contributed by Val Black on Oct 21, 2019

God's work never goes forward without opposition from the enemy. In fact, opposition is almost always caused by success and not failure. In building the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah faced much opposition but he knew what to do and now we can know also.

Nehemiah 4:7-23 (NLT) “But when Sanballat and Tobiah and the Arabs, Ammonites, and Ashdodites heard that the work was going ahead and that the gaps in the wall of Jerusalem were being repaired, they were furious. 8  They all made plans to come and fight against Jerusalem and throw us into ...read more

  • Backstabbers

Contributed by Scott Maze on Aug 12, 2025
     | 380 views

Jesus didn’t treat Judas any differently than He did the other Twelve. Shakespeare cannot have Jesus say, “Et tu, Judas,” because Jesus knew what was coming. And even though Jesus knew what was coming, He didn’t treat Judas any differently than He did any other disciple over those three years.

Find John 13 with me, if you will. Many of you recognize the phrase “Et Tu, Brute?” immediately. It’s Latin for “You too, Brutus?” It’s a quote from Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, where the Roman dictator speaks to his friend Marcus Junius Brutus. Caesar recognizes Brutus as one of his ...read more

Easter is a time when people turn their attention to Jesus Christ and His resurrection. For millions of people, Jesus’ resurrection offers the hope of life after death. But this year, Easter is unique because it falls on April 1, sharing the date with April Fool’s Day. It’s rare that these two ...read more

This message looks at how God calls believers to step up, one-by-one, and unite in order to form a wall against the flood of immorality that threatens to wash way our nation.

I’ve entitled our message this morning, “Standing in the Gap,” and I want to begin with a testimony by a woman from North Dakota: “The Sheyenne River, which flows past our backyard, went from its normal five feet to a major flood level . . . We felt overwhelmed with the preparations and thought of ...read more

God calls us to turn from empty pursuits and return to Him, the true source of joy, healing, and restoration through honest prayer and repentance.

Friends, would you take a deep breath and settle your heart for a moment? Picture a field at sunset. The stalks are golden, the air is warm, and the farmer stands at the edge of the rows with calloused hands and a quiet hope. He longs for a good harvest, a full barn, a happy table. We understand ...read more

Jesus made some incredible claims. Was He crazy? A lunatic? A liar? Was He actually telling the truth and therefore should be viewed as Lord?

Liar, Lunatic or Lord? Pt. 2 - Shepherd I. Introduction Lie Detector Test Have you ever dealt with someone who couldn't or wouldn't tell the truth? It is maddening. They can't even remember all the lies they told. So, we come up with stuff like "Liar, liar pants on fire!" ...read more

Does God recognize and reward some Christians more than others? And if he does how can I qualify?

Introduction How many of you work at a place where people are recognized and rewarded for a job well done? Why do you think companies make a point to recognize and reward such things as perfect attendance, production goals and length of service? Is it not true that we will try harder if we are ...read more

  • Gathering Together Under The Word

Contributed by Travis L. Billings on Sep 28, 2020
     | 2,469 views

It is obvious that the Spirit of God was moving and working in the hearts of those in Jerusalem even before reading the Word of God. Generally speaking, people do not often gather together as one for God “unless the Father draws them (John 6:44).”

Last week, we spoke the fact that GOD IS NOT ONLY CONCERNED WITH WHAT IS CREATED, HE IS CONCERNED WITH HOW WE TAKE CARE OF WHAT WAS CREATED. Nehemiah began moving from the building project itself, to taking the necessary steps to insure that what was built (or created) would be protected and ...read more
