  • What Does It Mean To "make Every Effort" To Enter The Kingdom? Series

Contributed by Jim Butcher on Dec 10, 2025
     | 85 views

This passage has two troubling phrases: "make every effort" and "try . . . and not be able." What are we to do with those? And do they mean that God is setting up difficult barriers to get into the Kingdom?

WHAT DOES "MAKE EVERY EFFORT" MEAN? It doesn’t mean that it’s nearly impossible but that you should focus your attention. - Luke 13:22-24a. - Jesus is asked an important question: “[A]re only a few people going to be saved?” (v. 23). - That's a great question. What is the nature of ...read more

Contributed by C. Philip Green on Dec 10, 2025
     | 75 views

If you want to get out of the mess you’re in, take responsibility for your own actions, and with God’s help turn from your sin.

A CEO has taken on a new job, and the outgoing CEO says to him, “Sometimes you'll make wrong choices. You will. You'll mess up. When that happens, I have prepared three envelopes for you. I left them in the top drawer of the desk. The first time it happens, open #1. The second time you mess ...read more

  • Unshared Unrivaled Unequaled

Contributed by David Dunn on Dec 10, 2025
     | 46 views

Christ alone is the unshared, unrivaled, unequal Rock; surrender means stepping off the throne of self and letting Him reign today.

There’s a certain comfort, isn’t there, in imagining that somewhere out there is a man who carries the weight of spiritual certainty on his shoulders. He sits robed, enthroned, vested in centuries of tradition and expectation. His words ripple across continents. His gestures become symbols. His ...read more

  • Who Is Sufficient?

Contributed by David Dunn on Dec 11, 2025
     | 37 views

We are not sufficient for the calling of Christ—but He is. In our weakness, His triumph is revealed, and through us the fragrance of His grace fills the world.

There is something profoundly moving about gathering in the house of God and sensing that you are not alone in the journey of faith. A worship service—when it is filled with sincerity and unguarded hearts—reminds us of something we tend to forget: God has already been walking toward us before we ...read more

  • Love The Family Of God Series

Contributed by Duane Wente on Jan 30, 2023
     | 2,553 views

For the love of family. The family of God, the church, the bride of Christ should be a place where love is felt most, expressed as help, care, and support. Unfortunately that is not always the case. We need to learn from Scripture what it means to love the family of God.

Video Ill.: Without Love from Shift Worship What is love? Love is the perfect expression of God. I chose that video to start our new study, because I wanted just for a few moments to think about what life would be without love. I wanted us to think for just a few moments about how important ...read more

Contributed by Todd Blair on Feb 23, 2022
     | 2,913 views

What did Jesus mean when He said we could ask anything in His name?

When the 1960s ended, San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district reverted to high rent, and most of the hippies moved down the coast to Santa Cruz. They had children and got married, too, though in no particular sequence. But they didn't name their children Melissa or Brett. People in the ...read more

Contributed by Brandon Max on Feb 27, 2022

The Bible teaches only the true Gospel which involves every "sinner" being saved: 1) according to God's Grace; 2) by faith in Jesus Christ alone; 3) having absolutely nothing to do with good works. This is what we believe!

Mordecai, Esther's uncle, offended a high court official called Haman, who decided to kill not only Mordecai but all the Jews in the Persian empire. Esther turned the tables on Mordecai. She pleaded with the King, and Haman was punished – hanged on the very gallows he had built for Mordecai.

The story of Esther centers around Queen Vashti, King Ahasuerus, Esther, Mordecai, Haman, and the Jewish people. If you are not already familiar with these individuals, they have been briefly introduced to us in the following paragraphs. Who was Esther? 1. Queen Vashti disobeyed the drunken orders ...read more

  • A Litmus Test Of Spiritual Well-Beng

Contributed by Jack Perkins, D.min., Ladc, Csac, Cclc on Mar 5, 2022
     | 1,356 views

Using the analogy of a litmus test, this sermon juxtaposes the traits of arrogance over against the traits that reflect the DNA of love. It explores the inclusion of 1 Corinthians 13 sandwiched between chapters 12 and 14.

“Litmus test” is a process used to determine the nature of something. In the 14th century scientists discovered that litmus, a mixture of colored organic compounds obtained from lichen, turns red in acid solutions and blue in alkaline solutions and, thus, can be used as an acid-base indicator. ...read more

God will destroy the wicked, and give the world to the humble. The question is, what role will you play in this?

Today, we'll work through Zephaniah 2. This chapter is a "little" difficult. So what I want to do is give you a framework to help you understand what you are reading/hearing. And I'll just say, up front, that there are things in here that are confusing. No one really ...read more

  • The Relevance Of Wonders

Contributed by D. Dewaine Phillips on Mar 23, 2022
    based on 2 ratings

Many churches are asking why they are not growing and why their outreach efforts seem so ineffective. Evangelism is most effective when the proclamation of the gospel is accompanied by a demonstration of signs and wonders.

Ministry and evangelism can be difficult in a country like America that holds a western worldview. The reason why is because people’s skepticism and unbelief concerning “the unseen” and “the miraculous” can limit church growth. God has bestowed on His people authority and power to see souls saved ...read more
