Why? God gave them to Israel before they entered the promised land as they were forming a new nation. He knew that the people needed laws to govern the people by. There is a book on the market called the Shoot-em up Society by Harry Hollis, Jr. The purpose of the book is to revealed on the cover of the book. We read, “An appeal for Christian alternatives to the insanity of violence.”

This is the shortest of all of the commandments and so simple that even a small child could understand it. However, in our society today this simple commandment is misunderstood by some.

Again I want to remind you that God has just delivered the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage. They could not deliver themselves, but God, by His marvelous grace delivered them.
