This messianic psalm is a psalm in which David, at a time in his life that was dark and seemed to be hopeless, cried on the Lord for deliverance and received it. David also, as a prophet, speaks of the Lord's suffering, death, and resurrection.

Psalm 22 is an amazing piece of literature. The way David writes this, you’d almost think he was standing at the cross because these events never took place in David's life, but instead were written 1,000 years before Christ's birth. Praise God!
