As Jonah was thrown into the sea it seemed all was over, but God had prepared a big fish to keep Jonah safe. In all those seemingly hopeless times, God is in control and let’s keep in mind that God’s grace and His justice always go hand in hand.

The people of Nineveh fasted and repented of their sinful ways at the preaching of Jonah. Fasting is a spiritual discipline, which helps us set aside physical food to spend time with God so that we are strengthened on the inside and can experience genuine transformation in our lives.

In the end, God prevails and Jonah misses the point. The book ends with our graceful and merciful God reconciled with the city turned around and our not so heroic prophet still angry. BUT Jesus still calls him, His Prophet!!
