This is the passage where one of Jesus' disciples, after watching Jesus pray, comes up to him and asks Jesus to teach him and the other disciples 'How to pray.' This is one of the two places in scripture that Jesus gives us all an example , or model, how we should pray.

"Our Father" I find it interesting here that Jesus would teach us this phrase because Jesus Himself never uses that phrase."In heaven" Jesus reminds us here that we are not approaching an earthly father that is limited in his capabilities or his presence.

We need to approach prayer with a sense of bold, unhesitating urgency--with chutzpah. We have no worries--unlike the grumpy, groggy neighbor, God never slumbers and is always happy to hear from us.
